Teena Murray

Teena Murray brings over 25 years of experience in collegiate, professional, and international sports, most recently holding front office roles with the NBA’s Sacramento Kings and NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins. Previously, she was the Director of Performance at the University of Louisville, where she pioneered a high-performance model integrating medical, performance, well-being, player development, and coaching, driven by data and analytics.
At Louisville, Teena was an early adopter of sport science, establishing the NCAA’s first performance analytics division in collaboration with CATAPULT in 2012. She also created an R&D Taskforce to foster innovation between Athletics, academic departments, and tech partners. Over her 14-year tenure, she developed a leading Health & Performance program that supported Louisville’s transition through multiple conferences and improved standings.
Teena’s career began as a strength and conditioning coach at Cornell University, with subsequent roles at the University of Connecticut, USA Hockey, and various professional hockey organizations. She also contributed to the creation of a Master’s program in Strength & Conditioning at Louisville and has published extensively in her field.
Teena holds master’s degrees in Exercise Physiology & Sports Nutrition and a bachelor’s degree in Education, as well as an Honors degree in Kinesiology & Biology. She completed an Executive Leadership program at Kellogg School of Management and is pursuing an InnerMBA focused on conscious leadership. Teena holds emeritus status with the NSCA and CSCCa.
